It has been a rough month of recruiting for the University of Kentucky. After losing Elite 11 semifinalist Mac Jones to Alabama, the Wildcats now have to deal with the decommitment of legacy recruit Craig Yeast II. Yeast’s father was a star receiver for Kentucky in the 90’s.

The younger Yeast tweeted out the news Thursday evening:

The 5-foot-11, 178-pound Yeast had been committed to the Wildcats for nearly a year, as he originally pledged to Kentucky in July of 2015. Yeast currently holds offers from Ole Miss, Louisville, Maryland, Northwestern, Rutgers and Washington State among others. Yeast is ranked as a three-star cornerback by 247Sports but also plays receiver in high school.

Yeast’s father caught 208 passes for 2,899 yards and 28 touchdowns for the Wildcats between 1995-1998. The elder Yeast also starred as a return man, scoring on three kickoffs and one punt return for touchdown during his career.

Following Yeast’s decommitment, the Wildcats are down to nine total commitments for the 2017 recruiting class.
