Kentucky officially named a starting quarterback Monday, and it wasn’t a surprise.

Junior Patrick Towles will be the game one starter, according to head coach Mark Stoops.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound signal caller was tabbed the starter over the highly touted Drew Barker. Towles threw for 2,718 yards, 14 touchdowns and nine INTs in 2014. He also added 305 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.

Kentucky’s offense should improve this season as Towles enters his second season as the starter.
