It takes money to make money. At least that’s what some say.

As for Kentucky football, Commonwealth Stadium had money poured into it ever since renovation plans began in 2013, and now, the Wildcats are reaping the rewards. The renovation ended up totaling $126 million, but the school is starting to earn its money back.

According to Jennifer Smith of the Lexington Herald-Leader, the 67 suites along with the new premium seating sections generated more than $7.3 million last season. The 67 suites alone brought in almost $3.5 million.

Mitch Barnhart, the Wildcats’ athletic director, talked about the stadium as a whole.

“We’ve got an SEC feel to what we’re doing,” Barnhart said in Smith’s article. “The greatest compliments you can get are from the opponents coming into our stadium. The ones who have been in there before, and the ones who have come back, have all said, ‘Wow. What a magic change. It really is a really special place.’”

All of the luxury suites are currently occupied for the 2016 season and each of them have a waiting list going forward. Each of these suites have at least 16 plush chairs, making the game-viewing experience that much more comfortable.

So, what do these suites cost? To get into one of the sideline suites, there is a $60,000 K-fund donation per season.

As for the Louisville Cardinals president, he pays $90,000 for one suite and $45,000 for another. The largest and priciest suite comes in at $120,000 on the 50-yard line.

Kentucky fans, if you have money laying around that you don’t know what to do with, a suite for watching Wildcat football could be yours. You’ll just have to be put on the waiting list.
