Kentucky may be 5-1 this season, but the Wildcats haven’t exactly been blowing teams out in their victories.

In fact, Kentucky’s biggest win the year was by 11 points in a less-than-inspiring game against Eastern Kentucky.

However, the important thing is that (Florida collapse aside) the Wildcats have ultimately found ways to win, and that’s all that matters to coach Mark Stoops.

Stoops said that his team is built to win close games during an appearance on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM on Wednesday:

“We have won some close games, but that’s how our team’s built,” he said. “We have to find a way to continue to win them.”

That will be easier said than done, obviously, as the Wildcats face some tough games moving forward. Coming off a bye last weekend, Kentucky travels to Mississippi State this weekend and still has a big game at Georgia on the schedule later this year.

The game in Starkville this weekend kicks off at 4 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
