What Mark Stoops had to say following Kentucky's disappointing loss to Georgia
Kentucky came out of halftime on a tear in its hunt for an upset but could not keep up with Georgia in the second half.
The Wildcats scored on their opening drive of the third quarter behind QB Stephen Johnson and a one-yard touchdown run from RB Benny Snell. That score made it 21-13 Bulldogs and gave Kentucky a fighting chance to pull off the upset in Athens.
Unfortunately, the Wildcats would not score again the rest of the way. Georgia outscored Kentucky 21-0 from that point forward to win by a score of 42-13. Kentucky simply had no answer for the Bulldogs rushing attack that gained 381 yards and controlled time of possession.
It was a disappointing loss, but Kentucky will regroup with a game against in-state rival Louisville set for next Saturday.
