Report: Conference USA assistant turns down Kentucky position
Kentucky reached out to a former long-time head coach at Eastern Kentucky in an attempt to fill a coaching vacancy, but he turned it down.
According to Steve Moss of WKYT-TV in Lexington, UK head coach Mark Stoops was unsuccessful in luring away Charlotte assistant head coach Dean Hood to join his staff.

Hood was the head coach at Eastern Kentucky for eight seasons from 2008 through last season, being hired by Charlotte just this past December. Last season, Eastern Kentucky gave Kentucky a scare in a narrow 34-27 loss.
The Wildcats have been trying to find a replacement for former outside linebackers/special teams coach Andy Buh, who left the program last month to become Maryland’s defensive coordinator.
