The Kentucky Wildcats are turning the page from last weekend’s resounding 59-14 victory over UT Martin, and are now focusing on their next opponent: the Ohio Bobcats, coached by Nebraska head man Frank Solich.

Prior to his game-week press conference Monday afternoon, Stoops released an updated depth chart for this weekend’s game, which features a few changes from last week’s edition.

For starters (pun intended), senior left tackle Darrian Miller is back in the starting lineup after serving a one-game suspension against the Skyhawks. Miller had started every game each of the last two seasons before sitting out against UT Martin, and is likely to be a lock to start at left tackle the rest of the season, health permitting.

Jordan Swindle will move back to right tackle after filling in on the left side in Miller’s absence, and Kyle Meadows, last week’s starting right tackle, will return to the bench against the Bobcats.

Once again, Stoops listed eight wide receivers on the depth chart including four true freshmen, all of whom saw action in last weekend’s opener. And despite a pair of rushing touchdowns in his UK debut, tailback Mikel Horton did not crack the depth chart, which lists just Braylon Heard and Jojo Kemp at tailback (Heard is the starter).

Both Heard and Kemp scored against UT Martin, with Heard amassing 116 yards and two touchdowns for the game.

On defense, Bud Dupree is once again listed as a linebacker, sort of. The depth chart says Dupree is a “DE/LB,” implying he will play both standing and with his hand in the ground on Saturday. He did the same last weekend, leaving an opening on the line for defensive end Jason Hatcher to see the field.

Dupree still rushed the passer on a majority of his plays without a hand in the ground, allowing Stoops and defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot to mix up defensive looks and blitz packages.

There were no other changes to the depth chart from last week, and for good reason – the Cats won their first home opener since 2007 by 45 points and cleared 56 points for the first time since 2010. It seems Stoops will stick with the lineup that has worked thus far, with the welcomed addition of Miller to the lineup, of course.

Stoops addressed the media at Commonwealth Stadium at noon ET Monday afternoon.
