LSU appears to be very interested in offering scholarships to players with bloodlines in football. First came an offer to 2021 quarterback prospect Garrett Nussmeier, son of veteran SEC assistant coach Doug Nussmeier, and now the Tigers have extended an offer to the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Like Nussmeier, Shedeur Sanders is also a 2021 quarterback prospect. Sanders eagerly shared the news that LSU has offered him a scholarship over the weekend. A native of Cedar Hill, Texas, Sanders does not have a recruiting ranking at this time but he does hold offers from Florida, Florida State (his father’s alma mater), Baylor, Louisville and Oregon among others.

He threw for 2,360 yards, 34 touchdowns and only eight interceptions for Trinity Christian School last season.

Sanders announced his latest major scholarship offer late Sunday evening:

Following this development, Deion Sanders reacted to the news by expressing his excitement for the expanding opportunities being presented to his son. Deion also offered up some praise of the LSU program and tagged two of the best players to come from the program in recent memory in Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu.

Mathieu then reacted with a thought of his own, with an attempt to recruit for the Tigers.

One look at his highlight reel and you’ll see why there’s so much hype for the young man. He appears to have a promising career ahead of him in football. His latest offer looks to be only the start of a list that could rival any 2021 prospect by the time his senior season rolls around.
