It’s one thing for Coach O to sing the praises of the LSU offense, which he has been doing all spring, but it’s another thing entirely for one of the leaders of the defense to do the same.

However, that’s exactly what’s going on in Baton Rouge as the Tigers head into the annual spring game. According to defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko, the offense’s production this spring in practice has the defense questioning just how good they are this year.

“It’s tough because when they are out there and they are doing the things they do, you kinda ask yourself ‘Do we suck or is our offense really that good?’ That’s the question we ask ourselves,” Fehoko admitted recently during his recent media availability.

In what has become an annual tradition of sorts in the SEC, LSU is often claiming the offense has turned the corner in Baton Rouge. While some will understandably reserve judgment or simply refuse to believe the offense has taken any meaningful progress until they see the final product on the field in the fall, Fehoko says the difference this year is the offense not only has the weapons but they have found a way to successfully utilize them this spring.

“We have faced offenses like that but the athletes we have in this offense makes it a lot harder (to stop),” Fehoko explained. “Bigger guys on the edge: Dee Anderson, Stephen Sullivan, Justin Jefferson, Jonathan Giles, Ja’Marr Chase, Terrace Marshall, guys that can actually run and catch.

“Sometimes you play a team that has one or two fast guys, our offense is always rotating receivers which makes them fresh and when you have fresh receivers that can come in and run routes on you DBs that have just defended a nine-route and now have to come in and defend it again, you are going to get gassed on defense.”

That has to be music to the ears of LSU fans. Their first look at the offense will come this Saturday as the Tigers are set to kick off the annual spring game at 1 p.m. local time in Baton Rouge. The game will also be broadcast by the SEC Network.
