La’el Collins first big NFL payday was delayed due to some wild circumstances leading up to the 2015 NFL Draft but the day has finally arrived for the former All-SEC lineman. Now suiting up for Dallas, Collins has reportedly agreed to a two-year, $15.4 million extension.

Following the shooting death of a pregnant woman Collins previously had a relationship with, the former LSU lineman saw his stock plummet just days before the 2015 NFL Draft. Suspection regarding Collins quickly disappeared when it was discovered he was in no way connected to the incident but the uncertainty regarding the situation led to him going undrafted.

After a strong rookie season in Dallas, which was followed by a promising sophomore start before going down due to injury, Collins has been handsomely rewarded reports NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo and Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

This extension ensures one of the marquee pieces of arguably the NFL’s best offensive line stays in Dallas for the foreseeable future. Following this news, there may not be two happier individuals in Dallas than Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.
