Ed Orgeron on LSU's 2018 RB situation: 'Something I worry about at night'
How do you replace running backs like Derrius Guice, Darrel Williams and Leonard Fournette?
That’s the question the LSU Tigers will be facing in 2018, as they’ll have to go back to the drawing board at the position.
During his Wednesday night radio show, LSU coach Ed Orgeron admitted that he loses sleep worrying about the running back position after Guice and Williams leave after this season (Fournette was the No. 4 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft). However, he added, the Tigers have some talented running backs coming up through the system:
O on future at RB for #LSU next year after Guice and DW leave: "Something I worry about at night. But Nick Brossette's had some excellent practices. Clyde Edwards is a tremendous back. Larand Fournette has made tremendous improvements."

The best way to recover from losing so many talented backs may be to shift the offense’s focus to the quarterback position, where the Tigers will have sophomore Myles Brennan stepping into the starting role.
With offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s pass-heavy system, Brennan will play a big role next year. However, the Tigers will still need a running back or two to step up in a big way in 2018.
