The LSU Tigers haven’t had a truly elite wide receiver in a few years. The last time an LSU receiver reached the 1,000-yard mark in a season was 2013.

But coach Ed Orgeron sounds pleased with the emergence of junior wideout Dee Anderson. He is improving every week and is second on the team in receptions and yards. After recording five catches for 80 yards against Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Orgeron raved about the junior receiver.

“He’s (Anderson) becoming a dominant player,” the LSU coach said. “He’s a tall receiver. He beats the one-on-one. He’s a sure-handed catcher. Makes plays. I’m happy for him.”

Anderson got off to a slow start, making just two catches for 20 yards in the first two games. That makes him unlikely to become the first LSU receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry to post 1,000 receiving yards in a season.

But with eight catches and 141 yards, Anderson leads LSU in receiving the last two weeks.
