Former LSU DB Eric Reid joins Colin Kaepernick in national anthem protest
Former LSU safety Eric Reid joined teammate Colin Kaepernick in his protest of the national anthem before the San Francisco 49ers’ final preseason game against the San Diego Chargers Thursday.

Reid, who was inactive for Thursday’s game, kneed alongside Kaepernick during the anthem and then embraced the quarterback afterward.
Kaepernick gained national attention after refusing to stand during the national anthem last week in protest of police brutality to minorities.
The former pro bowl safety tweeted his support of his teammate’s protest hours before the game.

Reid was a consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC defensive back in 2012. He recorded 194 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and six interceptions during his three seasons with the Tigers
Reid was drafted No. 18 overall by San Francisco in the 2013 NFL Draft and was a pro bowler during his rookie season.
