Imagine if LSU wasn’t penalized 14 times in Saturday’s win at Syracuse.

Heisman front-runner Leonard Fournette may still be running on the Orange’s indoor turf.

Fournette has set new career-highs rushing totals in every start this season, lifting the Tigers to a 3-0 record and No. 9 rankings in Sunday’s latest AP Top 25.

He had an 87-yard touchdown run called back on an illegal formation penalty on Saturday, a gallop that would’ve put him over the 300-yard plateau. Fournette finished with 244 yards and two touchdowns.

His 631 yards rushing this season is the most-ever by an LSU running back through three games.
