When LSU and Wisconsin meet next Saturday at Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers’ locker room will go unused. The Badgers will be in the visiting locker room. That leaves LSU to use a converted basketball court.

Ross Dellenger of The Advocate spoke to the crew behind creating LSU’s temporary locker room for next weekend’s showdown at Lambeau.

“Been involved in a lot of construction projects but never put a locker room together,” said Ted Eisenreich, the director of facility operations at Lambeau Field.

An on-site basketball court that is available to Packers players has been converted to a temporary locker room, with purple carpet for the occasion.

“We built a second locker room for LSU. That, in itself, is new to us,” said Gabrielle Valdez Dow, vice president of marketing and fan engagement. “Our operations team has been planning (this) since last year, what the lockers will look like and all.”

The Packers have a preseason game Thursday and will be back in town on Friday. With the basketball court out of commission, could any Green Bay players looking for something to do be attending the game Saturday?

“If they want to attend, they’d have to go and purchase tickets,” Valdez Dow said. “We’re waiting for those requests.”

Lambeau Field has already sold 80,000 tickets for the game, including LSU’s allotment of 23,000. The venue’s staff expects 30,000 Tigers fans to attend.
