Jakori Savage, a 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle out of Bay Minette, Ala., has been added to LSU’s 2016 list of verbal commitments.

Savage committed to the Tigers and assistant coaches Jeff Grimes and Kevin Steele after LSU’s recent day camp his prep coach confirmed to AL.com.

“He is probably a five-year player in college. Before he plays in the SEC, he needs to put on a little weight. A lot of colleges want to see him at 315 or 320,” Nathan McDaniel told AL.com in a text message. “So I would guess he would redshirt that first year in order to get bigger, but he has everything it takes to be a great player.”

Savage’s upside has increased his stock in recent weeks, leading to several news offers including South Carolina and Kentucky.

Savage is LSU’s fourth commit over the last two weeks, joining Andraez Williams, Glen Logan and Caleb Roddy. The Tigers’ impressive 13-player 2016 class is currently ranked No. 1 in the SEC and fourth nationally, per 247Sports.
