An interesting story has come out of Baton Rouge this week regarding the sale of some LSU cleats and game-worn gloves.

According to the Advocate, police were investigating an employee of a Baton Rouge shoe store regarding the sale of official LSU gear when the employee chose jail over snitching on the source of the gear.

The LSU gear is reported to be a pair of cleats and gloves worn during the LSU win over Ole Miss last October. The items were advertised as such on an eBay listing.

The shoe store employee did explain that he sold the gear for an LSU football player but refused to give up the name of the player.

After being told that he would be arrested if he did not cooperate, the man chose to go to jail rather than turn in the athlete.

“Do what you have to do,” Sanders responded, according to the report. “I am not going to be responsible for ruining someone’s career.”

Must be a slow crime season in Baton Rouge, no?
