LSU expects a pair of juniors to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft
It’s no surprise that star LSU RB Leonard Fournette is expected to leave the Tigers for the 2017 NFL Draft.
Fournette is expected to be a top pick in the draft, so it makes sense for him to leave.
According to The Advocate, another junior — S Jamal Adams — is expected to join Fournette in declaring for the draft.
From there, coach Ed Orgeron and his staff will meet with other draft-eligible underclassmen — like DT Davon Godchaux and WR Malachi Dupre — to discuss their status with the Tigers and in the eyes of NFL scouts.
According to the report, Godchaux may draw some interest from the NFL if he declares early:
“I’ve had four agents ask me about him in the past few weeks,” Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller said two weeks ago. “That’s a good sign that a kid is going to come out.”
Other players, like WR D.J. Chark and OL K.J. Malone, are expected to return to school for their senior seasons.
