Justin McMillan has waited a long time just for an opportunity to take meaningful snaps under center in Baton Rouge. While he’s got a ways to go before he has a chance to lead the Tigers’ offense out on to the field in 2018, he claims he’s never even had thoughts of leaving the program before showing what he can do.

The LSU quarterback met with the media on Thursday to explain just how much his opportunity means to him and how loyal he is to the word he gave the program when he signed back in 2015.

“Leaving never crossed my mind. I committed to LSU itself, as a school and as a program. I love it here,” McMillan said. “Going to school here, playing football here, the coaches have been great. I feel it’s a great program for me to be at.”

Whether it’s McMillan, Myles Brennan or Lowell Narcisse that wins the starting job in Baton Rouge this offseason, it’s hard to imagine McMillan reacting to the news negatively, based on these comments.

In his three seasons in Baton Rouge, McMillan has only attempted one pass and rushed twice.
