LSU (1-0) moved up one spot in the Associated Press Top 25 on Tuesday, ranking at No. 12 after a 28-24 neutral-site win against No. 14 Wisconsin.

The Tigers remain the fifth-ranked SEC team, leapfrogging South Carolina, which lost at home to Texas A&M. The Aggies moved from No. 21 to No. 9. LSU also ranked at No. 12 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, moving up one spot.

The team fell behind 24-7, but stormed back in the final 25 minutes or so of game time.

LSU got one No. 1 vote from Jon Wilner, who says he bases his Top 25 poll only on the Week 1 results, discarding preseason expectations in an attempt to get rid of false bias as soon as possible. He judged LSU’s win against Wisconsin to be the most impressive of the weekend.

Florida State, Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma, Georgia and Texas A&M got No. 1 votes as well. LSU was the lowest-ranked team to receive a No. 1 vote.
