LSU suffered some tough news — as 2017 quarterback commitment Lowell Narcisse suffered a torn ACL — as announced via the player’s Twitter account.

The 6-foot-3, 224-pound athlete is a 4-star prospect from Saint James, La. Regarded as one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country, Narcisse was injured during a high school game on Thursday evening.

He had torn an ACL in his other knee during a 2015 spring game. Narcisse recovered quickly from the injury and featured during his team’s playoff run — before re-injuring that knee.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for Les Miles and his coaching staff. There’s no telling how these knee injuries will impact Narcisse’s ability to run with the football. The fact LSU has had a dicey history in regards to quarterback play of late makes this injury an undoubtedly serious concern.

While the news is obviously impactful, the Tigers do have a second 2017 quarterback commitment in the form of  Mississippi product Myles Brennan.
