Miami Southridge (Miami, Fla.) running back Bentavious Thompson committed to his hometown Hurricanes back in February of 2015, but there’s a possibility that the marriage might come to an end before he even suits up for his first college snap.

Thompson (6-foot, 190 pounds), who is listed as a 3-star prospect and the No. 33 overall player at his position from the recruiting class of 2017 (according to 247Sports), took a visit to Baton Rouge over the weekend to watch LSU play its spring game.

He liked what he saw. A lot.

“It was great to watch,” Thompson told SEC Country. “I was worried about the running backs, (Leonard) Fournette and No. 5 (Derrius Guice). It was good to watch them.”

Thompson believes LSU’s offensive strategy aligns with his particular skill set and is similar to what he’s already used to.

“It would be a great fit for me,” Thompson said. “Just the offense that they run — one running back, sometimes they run shotgun — so I think that would be a good fit for me.”

In addition to Miami and LSU, Thompson also holds offers from Florida, Tennessee, Louisville, North Carolina, West Virginia, and more.
