It was revealed on Tuesday that star LSU LB Kendell Beckwith has torn his ACL — and will miss the Tigers’ bowl game versus Louisville on Dec. 31. He will also be forced to miss the Senior Bowl on Jan. 28.

Beckwith led the Tigers in tackles with 91, and also was among the team leaders in tackles for loss (6.0). The injury was said to occur during the Nov. 19 loss versus Florida.

Fellow linebacker Donnie Alexander spoke about the injury, and how the team is attempting to boost Beckwith’s spirit:

“We’ve been seeing him a lot lately because he’s been in the training room. We all go in there and pass by him and give him a few words and mess around.”

It’s unlikely Beckwith will participate at the official combine — although he could recover in time to participate at LSU’s Pro Day in April.
