LSU’s star RB, junior Derrius Guice, has been held out of practice this week because of an undisclosed injury, and it’s not looking good for him playing on Saturday.

According to reporters, Guice wasn’t present at Wednesday’s practice, either.

Guice has already piled up 300 rushing yards and four touchdowns this season, but injury issues have lingered already during the young 2017 campaign:

This isn’t a surprise, as coach Ed Orgeron said during a conference call on Wednesday morning that Guice was “very questionable” for Saturday’s game against Syracuse:

“Derrius Guice is very questionable. He did not dress out Tuesday.”

We’ll have to see what Coach O says about Guice’s absence after Wednesday’s practice concludes, but if the star back isn’t fully healthy, there’s a good chance he could be held out Saturday.

The Tigers should be able to beat Syracuse without Guice, which would let him rest up for when SEC play starts again.
