On Wednesday night, the LSU Tigers will go to Gainesville to play Florida in a game that tips off at 8 p.m. Central time.

Then, on Saturday, the Tigers will host Texas A&M in a game that tips off at 11 a.m. Central time. Considering travel time and time for classes, that doesn’t leave much time for LSU to prepare for the Aggies.

LSU coach Will Wade isn’t happy that this is happening to the Tigers again. In fact, he said on Monday, only 1 other SEC team has even had to do this once this season:

“The only other team that’s had this in the league is Auburn and they played 2 home games,” Wade said. “We’ve had 3 out of 4 road games with this same setup and it cuts our guys’ preparation time down. We talk about student-athlete welfare and all that — this is not student-athlete welfare.

“I’m not making excuses. I’m not a complainer, you guys know that. I don’t make excuses; we didn’t play well the first two times, we’ve got to play better this time. But we’re the only team in the league that has to do this and we’ve had to do it twice now. That’s not how it’s supposed to be. It’s supposed to be balanced, the schedule’s supposed to be balanced and that’s not right. It’s not right for our players, either.”

Can the Tigers navigate the schedule and pick up a pair of important wins? We’ll find out starting Wednesday night.
