Former LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday, according to the team’s official Twitter account.

Mettenberger was cut by the San Diego Chargers, who claimed him earlier this offseason after he was released by the Tennessee Titans. The fourth-year pro is 0-10 as a starter and has thrown for 2,347 yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions on 208 of 345 passing in 14 career appearances.

Mettenberger was, however, one of the most productive quarterbacks in LSU history despite starting only two seasons. He went 19-6 as a starter and appeared in 30 games after transferring from Butler Community College in 2011. Mettenberger finished with 5,783 yards, 35 touchdowns and 15 interceptions on 407 of 659 passing.
