Mississippi State fans will want to be sure to tune in to NBC at 6:30 p.m. Central time on Thursday night to catch a segment on former Bulldog QB Dak Prescott.

The segment will air on NBC’s Football Night in Minnesota ahead of Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Minnesota Vikings.

Pro Football Talk gave a sneak peek into what the story would be about, starting with Prescott’s draft day frustrations:

“It woke me up on Saturday a little anxious and a little pissed,” Prescott says on a feature to be aired on NBC’s Football Night in Minnesota.

“My dad was a diehard Cowboys fan,” Prescott said. “I was raised as a Cowboy fan, and I was forced to be a Cowboy fan. In the yard, I was always Emmitt Smith, imagining wearing that 22 on my chest. . . . Dad was too excited, too pumped. He comes out and pulls out all of his jerseys of older Cowboys that he has. Now, it’s him wearing my jersey every Sunday.”

From there, it will touch on his growth after taking over as the Cowboys’ starter just before the start of the regular season:

“I’ve always has high expectations of myself,” Prescott said. “I’ve never felt that there was anything I couldn’t do in this world. I’ve always wanted to play quarterback and I lucked out to be able to play for my favorite team — America’s team. I’m just living the moment. I feel like all of this was supposed to happen. When you work hard, things work your way.”

The segment will air on NBC during the pregame show leading up to Thursday night’s contest. Football Night in Minnesota will start at 6:30 p.m. Central time.
