Dan Mullen on Thanksgiving Egg Bowl: 'I love it'
Mississippi State (1-1) took care of business against South Carolina in its SEC opener last week, bouncing back after a shocking Week 1 loss to South Alabama. Now the Bulldogs avert their attention to No. 20 LSU — an important early season conference game that will be played in Death Valley this Saturday evening.
Here’s what coach Dan Mullen had to say during Wednesday’s SEC teleconference.

“The effort from Game 1 to Game 2 was better… it’s going to be a step up heading into SEC play.”
On moving the Egg Bowl to Thanksgiving:
Mullen says that he loves the tradition of the Egg Bowl being played on Thanksgiving. "I'm a big proponent of it."

“I love it. I grew up watching it then, and I would like to see that every year. It adds to the tradition of that game.”
On which LSU quarterback the Bulldogs expect to see:
Mullen on LSU's QBs: It doesn’t matter who their starting quarterback is. We have to get pressure on them.
— Michael Bonner (@MikeBBonner) September 14, 2016
“It doesn’t matter who they start at quarterback, with the wide receivers they have if we let the QB stand in the pocket, it’s going to be a long night for us.”
