It was a weekend to forget for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who lost on the road to cross-divisional rival Kentucky. But Monday started on the right foot.

Three-star junior college offensive guard LaQuinston Sharp announced he is committing to the Bulldogs.

Sharp made his commitment public via Twitter on Sunday night.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds, Sharp is from Columbus, MS and will be transferring from East Mississippi State Community College. He is the second-best guard and No. 19 JUCO player in the 2019 recruiting class according to the 247Sports player rankings.

Sharp also reportedly received offers from Auburn, Florida, Missouri and Arizona.

With the addition of Sharp, Mississippi State has 17 hard commits for the 2019 recruiting class. Sharp is the ninth-highest rated player of the group according to 247Sports.

There’s still a long way to go until Early Signing Day, but Mississippi State sits with the ninth-best 2019 recruiting class in the SEC and 19th-best 2019 recruiting class in the country.
