Dak Prescott is coming home.

The greatest quarterback in Mississippi State history plans on doing his part to help potentially set a new school-record spring crowd by making his way to Starkville for the upcoming Mississippi State spring game this Saturday.

He issued his excitement Friday on the pending return to his old stomping grounds by posting the following Twitter message:

Prescott isn’t the only one excited about his visit, as first-year Mississippi State coach Joe Moorhead was thrilled to discover the former Hail State quarterback was returning for the game. The MSU coach met with the media on Thursday and discussed how the plan came to be to have former players return to Starkville this weekend.

“I called Dak, got him on the phone and he was very gracious with his time and willing to come. I’m anxious to meet him,” Moorhead said. “You know, Johnthan Banks is over here at Starkville. The other guys, Bill Martin got in touch with. So to have four Bulldog alumni of that caliber and prestige come back for our first spring game means a lot to me. And it means a lot to our program.”

According to Moorhead, it wasn’t hard to convince Prescott to make a return for the spring game. Here’s Moorhead’s answer when asked if it was an easy ‘sell’ for Dak to come back.

“Surprisingly, yes! I shouldn’t say surprisingly, but to me, I get star-struck that way,” he said. “A big Dallas Cowboys quarterback, I’m still a fan in that regard! So I thought it was pretty cool.”

If Mississippi State wins big this year, as many are predicting, Prescott may soon be the one excited to take Moorhead’s calls.
