You won’t find many instances where an SEC West team travels west to take on an opponent for a regular season non-conference game but Mississippi State is scheduled to do just that this season as the Bulldogs will travel to BYU.

The school announced Thursday the details of the game, including a 9:15 p.m. CT kickoff time for the Friday night game and a nationally televised audience on ESPN.

Despite the distance between the two schools, Mississippi State is no stranger to Lavell Edwards Stadium as the Bulldogs went on the road to beat BYU back in 2000. BYU plans to return the favor in 2017 and travel to Starkville for a game.
