A 51-0 win over Vanderbilt did nothing for Mississippi State’s standing in the two polls released on Sunday. The Bulldogs (10-1, 6-1) remained No. 4 in both the Amway Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 poll.

The Bulldogs did get some good news, as their one loss could now look even better to the College Football Playoff committee. Alabama, which took down Mississippi State in Week 12, jumped to No. 1 in the coaches poll. The next set of CFP rankings come out Tuesday night; last week’s rankings had Mississippi State at No. 4 and Alabama at No. 1.

Up next for the Bulldgs: their biggest rivals, the Ole Miss Rebels in the Egg Bowl. Ole Miss (8-3, 4-3) dropped to No. 19 in the coaches poll and No. 18 in the AP poll following a 30-0 loss to Arkansas on Saturday.
