Former Mississippi State running back Josh Robinson made headlines overnight after he was issued a citation for trespassing on the university’s complex.

Robinson accused Dan Mullen of calling the police on him, but Mullen refuted that notion, and school official Bill Martin released the following statement Wednesday.

“Last night at 9:10 a.m., a member of our track staff saw a car parked on the track and called campus police to report it. The police came and issued a citation to someone who turned out to be Josh Robinson. Former MSU student-athletes often use our facilities as they prepare for pro opportunities, but typically coordinate that use with department staff to prevent these types of situations.”

Robinson played for Mississippi State from 2012-2015, and he was cut by the Colts last November.

Per Mississippi State University Police, it was track and field coach Daniel Schmidt who made the call.
