Mississippi State’s season opener against Southern Miss at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Miss. on Sept. 5 will kickoff at 9 p.m. local time and will be televised on Fox Sports 1, the Conference USA announced Monday.

Of the announced kickoff times thus far, Mississippi State’s 10 p.m. EST start is the second-latest game nationwide on college football’s first Saturday. USC’s opener against Arkansas State will kick-off at 11 p.m. EST on the PAC-12 Network.

The Bulldogs last played Southern Miss in Hattiesburg in 1989. Last season, Mississippi State obliterated the Golden Eagles, 49-0. This year’s game will mark the program’s first-ever appearance on Fox Sports 1.

The schools reportedly had no say in the start time since it was a network decision.
