Even though he’s coming back from gruesome leg injury sustained at the end of the 2017 season, Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald has already proven that he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the country.

After missing the season opener due to a violation of team rules, Fitzgerald has impressed in the last two games, throwing for a combined 397 yards, four touchdowns and just one interception.

The No. 14 Bulldogs are undefeated, and NFL scouts are starting to move Fitzgerald up on their draft boards.

Senior Bowl Executive Director and former NFL scout Jim Nagy is someone who is also very high on the senior QB.

“From a physical standpoint, there might not be a better looking QB in the nation than Fitzgerald,” Nagy said. “He’s tall with long arms and an athletic build—exactly what most football people think an NFL quarterback should look like.”

Fitzgerald’s hot start is also being compared to former Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel’s epic 2012 start.

Mississippi State gets their first test of the season on Saturday in Lexington, where they will face one of the hottest teams in the SEC in Kentucky.

NFL scouts will be sure to tune in to see if Fitzgerald can continue to live up to the hype.
