Joe Moorhead knows one way to fire up his players in the locker room following victories:

“I’ve got one question,” he says. “How about them ‘Dogs?”

Moorhead was at it again Saturday following a victory over Louisiana-Lafayette after QB Nick Fitzgerald had 350 yards and six touchdowns in the 56-10 win.

“It doesn’t matter who we’re playing,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what the score is. It doesn’t matter if we’re home or away. It doesn’t matter what the weather is. We play to a standard, and that’s a championship standard. One play at a time for 60 minutes, or as long as it takes.”

Mississippi State is beginning to get more national attention, and moved up to No. 14 in this week’s Associated Press poll.

The Bulldogs (3-0) return to action at Kentucky (3-0) this week for a 7 p.m. ET game on ESPN2. It’s the second road game, and first SEC game, for Mississippi State this season.
