What Barry Odom said after Mizzou's fourth-straight loss
The disaster that has been Mizzou’s 2016 season continued on Saturday afternoon with a 35-21 home loss to the Kentucky Wildcats.
After yet another disappointing defensive effort, in which the Tigers allowed 500+ yards of offense to their opponent for the fourth-straight game, first-year coach Barry Odom faced the media.
Odom, like many others in the program, is searching for answers as the season continues to spiral out of control.
Here’s what Odom had to say after the latest setback for the Missouri program:
On a string of disappointing losses:
Barry Odom presser has started: "Discouraged without question. Never once did I think this would be easy."

On defensive meltdowns:
Odom: Poor tackling is most frustrating part of the season. "I've got to get that fixed."

On taking over defensive play calling:
Odom: I ended up calling the defensive game. Still likes defensive staff and thinks they're good coaches.

Odom will continue to call plays moving forward. Calls it "our defense" as a staff in terms of piecing game plan together. Asks for feedback

On rebuilding the Tigers’ program:
Odom: "I had a pretty good feel on what it was stepping into it. On Aug. 3, when we reported, felt like we had a long ways to go."
— Tod Palmer (@todpalmer) October 29, 2016
Odom: "We’re going to get there. I know I’m going to get that done."
