Missouri Tigers defensive end and senior leader Markus Golden is just one of many senior college football standouts that accepted their invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, which will be held on Jan. 24, 2015.

Golden fought through injuries during his senior season and was one of the SEC’s most disruptive pass rushers. He ranked third in the SEC with 16.0 tackles for loss and sixth in sacks (8.5).

Coming into the season, Golden was expected to be the next Missouri defensive star after an impressive 2013 campaign. However, it was fellow defensive end Shane Ray who garnered many of the headlines with his record-breaking 12.5 sacks during the season.

Golden dealt with a hamstring injuring midway through the year, which significantly hampered his production for four games. But after Missouri’s second bye week, Golden was back to full heath and dominated in Missouri’s final three regular season games where he racked up 18 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, five QB hurries and two fumbles forced.

Golden will be Missouri’s second consecutive defensive end representing the Tigers in the Senior Bowl as Michael Sam participated in last year’s game.
