It’s understandable to see LeBron James as an eighth grader and offer him a scholarship as a college coach before he even sets foot on a high school campus.

Through the years, we’ve seen a few SEC teams offer eighth grade prospects. Most notably, this year’s No. 2 overall player, Dylan Moses, was offered as an eighth grader by Alabama and LSU.

Aaron McLaughlin, a rising eighth grader, just received his first SEC scholarship offer in what looks like will be an extremely long recruiting process ahead. The SEC offer came from the University of Missouri.

And according to Rusty Mansell on Twitter, McLaughlin already has the height for the position – not at the high school or collegiate level, but for the NFL – standing at 6-foot-5.

247Sports’ Composite Rankings haven’t rated McLaughlin yet, but that will sure change.

Luckily, footage of the obviously young but talented signal caller can be viewed here, thanks to his YouTube account:

In the first highlight, McLaughlin displays his deep-ball accuracy on a 40-yard fly route. From there, his speed and ability to get the ball out quickly is shown.

Before we get too crazy, though, let’s see what he does as a freshman in high school. McLaughlin currently lives in Suwanee, Ga.
