Missouri is doing its best to not overlook Vanderbilt as it suddenly finds itself atop the SEC East as the only team without an SEC loss.

“It doesn’t matter if we’re playing here or in Nashville, wherever the game is, if we’re playing in a parking lot,” coach Barry Odom said in the hype video. “If you prepare and have the right mindset, you eliminate everything outside, put blinders on, and you go to work.”

Missouri has a lot of momentum thanks to its winning streak, which is now up to 5 games. The offense also has a streak of 11 straight games that Mizzou has scored at least 31 points, dating to last season.

It’s been a season of spreading the production around, as last week showed.

RBs Larry Rountree III, Dawson Downing and Tyler Badie all got in on the fun. Rountree rushed 21 times for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. Downing, a former walk-on, carried six times for 70 yards and a touchdown, including a 54-yarder. Badie caught 3 passes for 69 yards and a TD.

The defense has played well, too. The Ole Miss game (27 points) is an outlier as the Mizzou defense has allowed an average of fewer than 12 points in the past 5 games (7, 0, 14, 10).
