It’s been a reoccurring theme this offseason. Teams are putting future home-and-home series on the schedule, and it should benefit college football.

Missouri and Purdue announced a home-and-home series for 2017-18. The Tigers will host the Boilermakers on September 16, 2017, and Purdue will host Mizzou on September 15, 2018.

“We’re pleased to add a quality opponent such as Purdue to our schedule,” said Missouri executive associate athletic director Bryan Maggard said in a release. “We feel like this is an attractive game for many reasons, and that it provides a name opponent within traveling distance that will allow our fans the chance to see a new location and follow the Tigers on the road.”

Purdue leads the series 6-2, with their last win coming against the Tigers in the 1980 Liberty Bowl 28-25.

Mizzou satisfies the SEC’s mandate of having one Big Five opponent per year for 2017-18.
