OVERRATED: LSU AND THE SEC WEST

I think that LSU was vastly overrated. Honestly, the SEC West as a whole has been overrated the last few weeks.

Georgia destroyed Auburn this weekend, and Missouri went into Kyle Field and beat Texas A&M. I think the SEC West has fallen a little bit.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re still the king of the castle, but the East has shown that it can compete and beat some of the Western Division teams.

Okay, let me get back on track. LSU was 7-3 and ranked 17th in the country. I was very confused by that anyway. I haven’t liked the Tigers’ offense all year. I know they’re young and talented, but it’s Week 12. The freshmen are no longer freshmen. Being a freshman no longer an excuse to be so bad on offense.

They just can’t seem to get it together. Will the Tigers make a change at quarterback? What can jump start the offense ahead of Texas A&M?

UNDERRATED: MISSOURI

Now for the underrated. I have doubted and bad-mouthed Missouri for the last time.

Coach Gary Pinkel has his Tigers are playing very good football. That home loss to Indiana was bad, really bad. They also got shelled at home against Georgia. However, the Tigers sit at 8-2, sit atop of the SEC East and control their own destiny.

Somehow, they continue to win games and shut up all the doubters, like myself. They have a very difficult remaining schedule, as they travel to Tennessee to face a revamped Volunteers team, and they play Arkansas to end the season. That run game is legit.

Arkansas doesn’t have the greatest record in conference play, but they have been so close to having a really good year. I also think the Razorbacks pose a big threat to them based on matchups.

Tennessee found its answer at quarterback in Joshua Dobbs, and the team has put up a lot of points the last two weeks. The Vols are one of the SEC’s hottest teams.

I still feel that Missouri is underrated, even though they lead the East and are 8-2. We shall see shortly how the East ends up. One thing is for certain, I will not be doubting Missouri again this season, but they definitely have their hands full!

That’s what’s so awesome about college football. Anything can happen. As soon as you think you got it figured out, you’re wrong.
