Report: Mizzou gives two-year extension to coach Barry Odom
The Missouri Tigers had one of the best second-half turnarounds in college football history this season, going from 1-5 to 7-5 by winning their final six games.
That big turnaround has taken second-year head coach Barry Odom off the hot seat and has the Tigers preparing for the Texas Bowl against the Texas Longhorns.
Now, Odom will possibly be in Columbia a little longer, as he has received a two-year contract extension for his efforts. His new deal runs through 2023:

Interestingly, Odom now has more incentive to field competitive squads, as he has a bonus in his contract tied to home attendance at Faurot Field in Columbia:
All details of Odom’s contract remain the same — with one added incentive: In any season during the agreement that ticket revenue from Mizzou home football games exceeds $11.7M, Odom will receive an amount equal to 20% of that amount.

Based on recent home attendance numbers, that will be a difficult incentive for Odom to reach. However, if the Tigers keep winning games, the fans at Faurot Field will respond.
Back during Mizzou’s heyday during the mid- to late-2000s, Faurot Field was packed on a weekly basis. It’ll be tough for Odom to get the Tigers back to that level, but he’s on the right track at the moment.
