Less than a week after making national headlines for all the wrong reasons, Ole Miss quarterback signee Chad Kelly expressed his remorse.

“Sorry for my actions. There’s reason for everything, but I take full responsibility, of course, of everything,” Kelly told Rebels247. “But you just got to learn from them … learn from your mistakes and move past them.”

Kelly has been charged with a number of misdemeanor charges stemming from a nightclub scuffle last weekend. Among the charges are third-degree assault, second-degree harassment, resisting arrest and more. Kelly reportedly got into an altercation with a bouncer and police officials at a local nightclub in Buffalo, N.Y., early last Sunday morning.

While Kelly tries to move on — he has a court date set for Jan. 5 — Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze said he is still monitoring the situation before issuing a decision regarding the nation’s top JUCO quarterback.

Freeze told reporters in Atlanta on Friday morning, his first public appearance since Kelly was arrested, that Ole Miss is where the East Mississippi Community College transfers wants to be, and that all reports out there regarding the incident are not accurate.
