When the Pittsburgh Steelers invested a 2015 second-round pick in former Ole Miss CB Senquez Golson, they didn’t expect that Golson wouldn’t be able to stay on the field.

But, so far in his career, that’s been Golson’s story. After missing the 2015 season with a shoulder injury, Golson sustained a Lisfranc injury to his foot earlier this month and will miss at least seven weeks.

Still, the former Rebel is keeping his hopes up and wants to see action for the Steelers in 2016, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article:

“I’ll definitely be back this year,” Golson said. “I’m thinking sometime in November. For sure by the end of November, I’ll be full speed back.”

However, if and when Golson does finally see the field, it sounds like he’ll be wearing different shoes:

“I had a few people mention to me the cleats I was wearing,” Golson said. “I don’t think I’ll use that as my excuse for what happened. I just know other players around the league have had the same injury with the same cleats.”

2016 second-round pick Sean Davis of Maryland has taken Golson’s place on the depth chart while he works his way back from the foot injury.
