Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze is understandably disappointed with his team’s 1-2 start.

But now the No. 23 Rebels, after losing a back-and-forth affair with No. 1 Alabama last week, will host No. 12 Georgia in an early game set to kick off at noon ET on ESPN.

“It’s disappointing any time you play the nation’s elite and don’t get the job done, but our guys have responded,” Freeze said during Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. ” … It’s a challenge, but not something we can’t accomplish. Playing early is tough, playing a top 15 team adds to that. Life is full of disappointments, it’s how you respond to those. We have yet to play a complete game.”

Freeze on defensive end Marquis Haynes:

“He is very valuable, he is one of my favorites I’ve coached. The speed, the passion. He’s athletic, which is very valuable when you play in this conference.”

On freshman defensive end Charles Wiley, who was arrested on domestic violence charges in July and suspended indefinitely:

On the replay officials for the Alabama game, who overturned four of the six plays reviewed:

“The replay system is put in place to get things right, but we need to look at the length of games. It’s disappointing for sure. It was a long game.”
