Ole Miss got its 2016 season back on track Saturday with a lopsided 45-14 victory over Georgia. This week, the Rebels will look to exorcise some demons when the Memphis Tigers come to Oxford.

Last season, the then-No. 13 Rebels traveled to Memphis to take on the Tigers, only to leave town with a 37-24 loss. Though it’s certainly a must-win game for Ole Miss, coach Hugh Freeze isn’t calling it a revenge game.

“I don’t think anytime you talk about revenge or any of those things they are very helpful so I am not big on that,” Freeze said during his Monday press conference. “I am about preparing as good as we can prepare to play a very good Memphis team and I know that the game means a lot to our fan base and their fan base so some emotion comes with that, hopefully for our kids too.

“We won’t get into talking about we’ve got to do this because of last year; I am not a big fan of that. Hopefully our kids will understand it is an important game and is one that should have our full attention for sure.”

Freeze isn’t the only one looking for a better performance of the Tigers this year:

Ole Miss is probably the best two-loss team in the country, having led both Florida State and Alabama by 20-plus points before falling apart and losing.

The Rebels will look to avoid another major letdown on Saturday. Memphis and Ole Miss will kick off at 6 p.m. Central time.
