Ole Miss only picked up three total commitments along the defensive line for the Class of 2016, so that is sure to be a focal point for 2017.

The Rebels got that started with their second commitment for next year, which came from strongside defensive end Markel Winters out of Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Miss.

Winters confirmed the commitment to SEC Country on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder first played at East Carolina before being kicked off the team. The decision came after Winters was suspended following a citation for firing a BB gun from a moving vehicle.

He is not currently rated by any recruiting service.
