Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork confirmed that renovations to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium are on schedule during a Rebel Road Trip event in Jackson, Mississippi, Tuesday night, according to 247Sports. The university is currently in the middle of a $43.5 million dollar athletic facility expansion phase, including its football stadium, which Bjork expects to be ready for the Rebels’ home opener against Wofford.

“Everything is on time and everything is under budget. That’s a good thing. It will be ready by Sept. 10,” Bjork said.

“There’s a lot of construction happening right now on campus,” he added. “We finished up the practice fields last week for football. Our track facility, it will be done in the middle of August. The big thing is the north end zone project along with new sound system, new lighting, new natural turf field that the guys will play on. So a lot of improvements. A lot of little things that maybe people won’t necessarily recognize, but when they turn on, I think they’ll notice them.”

Once the renovations are completed, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will be the largest football venue in the state of Mississippi.
