The Ole Miss Rebels are expected to bid farewell to two members of their touted 2013 recruiting class this offseason.

Former four-star tailback Mark Dodson and former three-star safety David Kamara are both expected to transfer for the 2015 season, according to a report in the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, citing sources.

The story was first reported by the Ole Miss Spirit.

Dodson finished fifth on the Rebels in carries with 36 in 2014, and fourth on the team with 236 yards rushing. In two years at Ole Miss he rushed for 360 yards on 58 carries, and in 14 career SEC contests he carried the ball just 22 times for 66 yards.

The rising junior would have been one of five tailbacks on scholarship for Ole Miss next season, not including incoming four-star recruit Eric Swinney, who gave his verbal commitment to Ole Miss earlier this season.

Kamara is a former high school teammate of 2013 No. 1 recruit and current Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche. He followed Nkemdiche to Oxford but was never able to make an impact on the Ole Miss defense, recording just two tackles in 14 games the last two seasons.

The expected departures of Dodson and Kamara should help clear space for Ole Miss’ 2015 recruiting class, which currently has 16 commitments for only 15 available scholarships due to the small size of the Rebels’ senior class this season.

No news has been released regarding where Dodson and Kamara might choose to play next season.
